Dylan pushed the boundaries. Made people rethink what music could be. Just mho.

Well, this thread did it. I'm a 50 yr old guy that's never sat down to specifically listen to Bob Dylan.

Going to change that right now.

IMO, it is what he said, the way he said it, and most importantly when he said it. He is a very good songwriter, but there are and have been better ones.

Incredible songwriter. Awful voice. He is the prototype for too cool guy. Prickly guy. Awful interview. Gives good shows. Gives bad shows. fricks with his songs on purpose. Plays classics then plays zero classics.

He is an acquired taste and the friend you must apologize for with other people.

I can go to a library, bookstore or coffeehouse to hear poetry. Lyrics never attracted me to a song. The music has got to be there for me.

Nico w/actor Ben Carruthers, 1966

He had earlier been in the John Cassavetes film Shadows, and would later play one of The Dirty Dozen

He somehow became part of the Dylan entourage, & is credited as co-writer of a Dylan song.
