Want to start going through his catalog. What are the high points?? I've heard If There Was a Way and This Time but I want to dig a lot deeper.

Do them in this order. However you might consider downloading "Just Lookin' for a Hit" - his 1989 Greatest Hits album (Yes, he had enough hits after three albums to make a greatest hits album). Awesome. If you like it, then you will like the albums noted above.
Plus do yourself a favor and go see him live. Still puts on a damn fine show.

That dwightyoakumacoustic.net album is fantastic. It's pretty much a greatest hits but done so very well in a style that really elevates his artistry IMO.

"This Time", to me, is the most standout Dwight Yoakam recording. But "Gone" is a little unappreciated gem as well.
And "Dwight Live" is about as solid a live album as you're going to get.

Dwight Yoakam was/is greatness. I don't even like Country Music, but there was something about his music, his style, everything that was just perfect.

Two Doors Down off of This Time album is about as solid of a drinking song that I've ever heard.

DY stayed true to the Bakersfield (Buck Owens) sound and stayed away from that horrid shite that comes out of Nashville.
