If that is music then you have to admit that either

A) music does not require an instrument which makes britney a musician or

B) the voice is a musical instrument that is made of flesh and blood instead of wood and metal which also makes britney a musician.

Britney Jean Spears is an American recording artist and entertainer.

Not a musician.

Your ignorance as to what qualifies a person as a musician is astounding.

Frank Sinatra laughs at this thread btw

So everyone is a musician? That's retarded!

Britney spears, Adele, Celine dion, Whitney Houston, Christina aguilera are all vocalists/entertainers/recording artists.

Not musicians. Especially not Whitney because she's dead

Frank Sinatra was not a musician. He was a singer.

I don't know how else to explain it.

I'm afraid you don't know the difference between someone who is just a singer and someone who is actually a musician.

If their job is to use their voice to create musical notes set to time then yes they are musicians.

The definition of this word has already been posted. You chose to ignore it and carry on with your ignorance. There really is nothing else I can do for you

Not at all. I've already stated that there is a difference between singers/vocalists and musicians. Just because you have vocal cords does not make you a musician, or you could label everyone a musician.

Quit being asinine. Once again

quote:

a person who makes music a profession, especially as a performer of music.

Now read slowly this time so you can be sure to comprehend.

No, I mean that is a very loose definition of the word musician.

Because you don't like it?

Look dude... Musician isn't some holy sacred word. It is a job. Just like any other job. Anyone that performs that job for a living is a musician and just like any other profession you have untalented and talented people that do the job yet their title is still Musician. Get used to it.

Nah, I disagree. Musician is a title I don't throw around like it doesn't mean anything.

I don't consider vocalists and entertainers to be musicians.

Then you would be wrong.....

The words you are trying to fit into the musician definition are "instrumentalists" and "artists". Neither of which are necessary to be a musician.
