Do any of you dislike A Ha's "Take On Me"?

I can’t stand it. Seems to always top the best of lists and held to this godlike standard much like Queen is (whom I also can’t stand). It’s a meh song at best, plenty other better stuff from that time period. The music video I’m sure has a lot to do with it. It’s creative for sure, but is just a neat video for a mediocre song. Not worthy of the worship it gets.

It’s a good song, and the dude has some serious pipes. If I’m gonna hate on music, it’s not gonna be A-ha.

The 1980s were the golden age of pop music.

It's no 'Bastards of Young' ..
But, like Tears For Fear's 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World', Simple Minds 'Don't You Forget About Me', Mr Mister's 'Broken Wings', Prince's 'Raspberry Beret', Godley and Creme's 'Cry', etc..sorta resonates as amongst 1985's best songs of the year.

I only like it because we used to crank it out in Tiger Band. The song itself is average at best

It’s on the loop of the in store playlist I work at, and it’s annoying now

Absolute GOAT song. Songs like that make me wanna be alive during the 80s.

It’s overplayed where I work but I’ll take it over any Queen song

Pardon My Take has ruined that song for everyone who listens to that podcast.

Not a fan. I don't hate it but I don't really like it

Agree. Got burned out on it when they played the video so damned much on MTV.
Don’t mind it now, but I’m never going to put it on a playlist.

I actually liked the follow up single 'The Sun Always Shines On TV' better

I always loved it and the video, and if any of you have seen the Leftovers, it means so much more after seeing it

Hated that song then, hate it now.

With music being subjective, I get thinking this song is pretty *meh* - but I can't get not "standing" Queen.
