The late great Teddy Pendergrass from 1973.

I was a pre-teen through the height of Disco, but Disco and KISS dominated my listening habits then, along with a healthy helping of 70’s soft rock.
I never understood the “Disco Sucks” stuff from rock people. I was always “why not both?”

Love me some Isley's, but I would respectfully disagree on the classification of this song. It's closer to funk, than disco, IMO In the same vein as Sly & The Family Stone and The Brothers Johnson. I know there can be some cross-over into both genres, though.

The Spinners provided the music at a New Year's Eve party I attended. No one there was sitting when they broke this out:

These motherfrickers won the "Best New Artist" Grammy over Dire Straits

If you dont care for Disco then you probably "weren't there". ... 1975 is the smack dab middle of about the best decade ever.
I was there. Disco sucks. The best decade of music was roughly 1966-1976. No coincidence that music overall fell off dramatically with the rise of disco.

That’s from “Staying Alive”, the shitty sequel.
