Yes these shows/venues were in the that same time frame, mid to late 70's. I saw many great shows at the Kingfish, but as a "Rocker", I had no interest in Punk Rock. At the time we thought it sucked balls. Looking back, I can appreciate it's significance.

Back to the original topic, that Pink Floyd ticket cost a whopping $8.50.

I have to say Jon Carin did a great job with Dogs. Jon Carin is one hell of a unique guy. He's turned into a masterful utility guy for all things Floyd.

He's managed to be the singular musician that has worked on multiple Floyd, Gilmour and Waters projects and tours - crossing frigid lines that were seemingly uncrossable. I guess talent trumps conflict every time.

I'd say Jon Carin certainly has a future at being a centerpiece of a Pink Floyd tribute super group whenever all members of the Floyd quit touring for good if he ever chooses to do so.

Speaking of Floyd tribute bands - did you know that Floyd tribute band business collectively generates $30M-$40M of revenue annually by itself? I'm talking strictly tribute band business. That's insane.

Back to Carin, here's what he's been involved in related to Floyd over the years. It's quite the wide range of activities.

Carin performed with Roger Waters and Eddie Vedder for the "12/12/12" Hurricane Sandy benefit concert.

He performed with Roger Waters tour "The Wall 2010–2013 Live" on keyboards, guitars, lap steel, and programming.

He then contributed to David Gilmour’s Rattle That Lock album, playing keyboards.

Carin performed with David Gilmour on his Rattle That Lock World Tour 2015–16.

In 2016, he performed with Roger Waters on a short tour of Mexico, then at Desert Trip in Coachella.

He is currently on tour with Roger Waters on his Us & Them world tour.

The pro-shot video of The Wall tour is out there in bootleg land. It’s not completely professionally edited but it’s pretty good if you want to see the show. It’s pretty cool.

It’s been a while since I’ve been there. I Was a Usenet junkie for a long time and got most of my boots from there. I was in a private surround sound forum for a while and we traded stuff.

I had tons of Floyd boots. The Animals tour had the best-sounding boots, particularly the Oakland show and Roar’s End from Montreal (or was it Ontario? It was the last one they played on that tour).

That was exactly my experience. I had never purchased a Pink Floyd LP prior to that show. Afterward, I bought most of the ones they had released by that time period. Animals was my favorite because it had been most featured in the Baton Rouge show.

I later lost interest in them but would have gone to see them perform live no matter what. Unfortunately, I never saw them live, again.

For contrast, I also attended the Led Zeppelin show in Baton Rouge during that same time frame. Zep was one of my favorite bands. I thought their live show sucked.
