Same thing goes for any of the older bands. Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, Springsteen etc but all the younger kids going to these shows were brought up listening to the older bands.

Yeah but all those guys are still alive. You want to see the Stones without Jagger or Aerosmith without Steven Tyler?

People still went and saw the Allman Brothers after Duane's death. If people are enjoying the music then you can almost plug and play someone just as talented into their spot. Is it the exact same? No. It's a different take on the music that can transcend generations.

I'd still go see Jaimoe, Warren, Derek Trucks, Oteil and whoever they wanted to put in that line up.

Mayer, Oteil, Chimenti plus some select adds could live on past original members. I agree it's not the same, but it's still a damn good band playing damn good songs and making people happy. Nothing wrong with that.

That’s not a bad thing

I really can't but I guess that is my issue. I have watched the videos and am surprised how many younger people are out there in the audience. None of them would be old enough to remember the Dead in their heyday with Garcia.

My son is a senior in college. It's amazing to me how he and lots of his friends are into Dead & Co and GD in general. He's going to the show Friday.

Heading to ATL this weekend. Cant say Im a huge GD fan, but I do enjoy quite a few songs and respect their music.

Maybe this will turn me into a bigger fan.

Never give in to the endless corporate names they choose every 4 years or so. It will always be Starplex. They just interviewed Bob Weir on The Ticket. Great interview. Have fun.
