If this is really the Final tour, I am going to have to make it.

I've never seen any form of the band and I'm not really much of a fan, but it's a part of music history. I signed up for the 2 San Fran dates as well as I'm already planning a west coast trip anyway.

Is this really the FINAL tour or is it like the FINAL tour like KISS with the makeup, The Who, or Elton John who have been doing final tours for like a two decades now.

It could be "Dead and Co"'s final tour, but I would be surprised if the ex-GD members call it quits and not move on to some other project.

Weir is in the middle of the Wolf Bros tour....was watching some footage and it sounds good. Billy is getting old and has health issues. Couldn't make it all the way through the last two tours. Mickey is getting up there as well and its got to be hard. Bobby is in good shape and will likely continue doing the Wolf Bros....drummers probably are calling it quits and retiring.

oteil I’m sure has many projects lined up
billy is pretty much done he can play one offs whenever he wants
Mickey has his own planet drum and experiment rhythm stuff
Bobby has wolf bros and whatever else he wants
Phil same thing with friends/etc

it’s time, go out with a bang and gather the tribe

I'd bet on a Jazz Fest one-off to make up for the cancellation.

Someone made a joke that the guy who died at one of the shows this year (I think he fell off a balcony in Chicago maybe?) fell because they were playing so slow that his heart stopped

Elton John has never called a tour his last tour before this current one. And Covid started in the middle of it. It would already be over if Covid lockdowns never happened.
