Is possibly one of the greatest songs ever...never heard of the guy until I heard this song on the radio.

Saw him play it live on the Serious Moonlight tour in ‘83. One of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. Stevie Ray Vaughn plays the solo but did not tour with him.

Blue Jean is one from the following year.

I hate this song. I like lots of Bowie songs, but this is one of the worst songs ever.

It's one of my lesser liked Bowie songs. It's almost annoying

Hate Blue Jean too. What's next, China Girl? Terrible, terrible songs.

That was probably his most commercial album. I like a lot of Bowie from Fame to Young Americans to Scary Monsters but if dude had never heard of Bowie and liked that song, why is that a problem?

This guy’s channel is pretty cool for breaking down tracks, he does Let’s Dance in this episode.

Never cared for it, China Doll or any of that 80s stuff.

I like the extra strange, drugged out 70s Bowie.

It is bad, just like most of his stuff from the 80s.

It's not a problem at all. I would never have even posted but for the claim in the OP.

It is one of my top 5 music videos of the MTV era (actually, of all time)

Exactly 1 year ago, I visited the bar that was featured in the video. Even though I am not giant Bowie fan (I do love a great deal of his music, though), I have always wanted to go to that bar. After a visit to the Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, NSW, my friends and I headed 3 hours west into the outback to reach Carinda, New South Wales. 20 miles of the journey was over a dirt road. On either side of the road were cattle ranches and wheat farms consisting of tens of thousands of acres. The town was so small, that the only businesses were the George's Carinda Hotel and the gas station or "servo" across the street. We stayed for an hour, had a couple beers, and headed back to Newcastle...a 6 1/2 hour journey. It was truly an adventure, and I'm glad I did it. Here are a few pics:

From the video:

As it appears now:

At the public swimming pool just down the road:

It used to get overplayed so much on classic rock stations. I didn't even know it was Bowie until a few years ago. I just didn't follow him at all. I wasn't much of a fan of the song when I was younger, but I actually like it a lot now. Very good song. Not my favorite of his, but it's up there.

Blue Jean is not on the "Let's Dance" album. It's on the follow-up, "Tonight", which was recorded after the Serious Moonlight Tour.

And Bowie was AWESOME in that period.

Just watched the HBO documentary "The Last Five Years" again this morning--excellent. And if you've never seen "Five Years" about him in the 70's/early 80's at the peak of his power, check it out. It starts with Ziggy Stardust in 1971 and ends with 1983 and Let's Dance.
