All the Boyd stuff going on figured they could use a little good light. First track is the single from the album “samurai cop” and I dig it. Latest album since 2012.

he's been accused of some sexual misconduct and kicked out of the band

Maybe should've thought about a different title for the album.

well shite. When I meet Dave this weekend, what should I ask him? I'm not the biggest fan, but still will be cool to meet him.

I probably would not ask Dave about Boyd.

Next track off the album -

That Girl is you

Not sure what they were thinking on this one

Full album finally released. Go check it out.

Some of it’s pretty good

Idea of you is a good just from carters riffs

Used to absolutely love DMB back in my college days and that phase in my life ended.

With that said, this album is average to bad. I’ve never been a huge fan of their studio stuff, but the only song I really liked was “Idea of You” which is a decade old.

Seems pretty good overall to me. Definitely better than the last album. People are hating on the "That Girl Is You" single, but I love the groove on that.

Idea of you is older but I think they got a great studio version.

That girl is you is horrific.

Thy have been playing Idea of You and Can’t Stop for 10+ years. Samauri Cop is newer but still have been played for the last few years. They are good songs. A few of the other tracks have been played live over the years just not regular rotation.

Their albums were always a preview of songs with the full potential realized after regular rotation in live shows. Studio recordings of good songs that had yet to be recorded seems like the opposite approach.

Latest album since 2012.

My mind gets more and more blown at the speed at which life passes these days. I thought were dead arse wrong on this. 6 damn years since Away From The World still doesn't make sense to me. Anyway.

I still like Big Whiskey is way better than the two most recent, but that one battles for my favorite. AFTW took a little time to grow on me. This one may need a little more time.

Very long time DMB fan, saw them last month in Austin and show was better than I expected without Boyd. Haven't brought myself to listen to much of the new album yet but as some have pointed out......some of it's good, some of it's just not good at all, borders un-listen-able.

Never been huge fan of most of the studio work but just the general direction of this newer stuff isn't doing it for me. Reality is old fans just want to go to the shows and hope for old songs while tolerating the new.

As a side note, Buddy Strong is touring on keyboards and he's legit.
