I dont know how famous all of his songs were but this is a great cover album.

I also like the deftones cover album.

Sublime is really a sampling cover machine.

one of my favorites is 54-46 that was originally done by toots and the maytals.

What song does this remind you of?

Lady Madonna, children at your feet
Wonder how you manage to make ends meet

Early in the morning, risin' to the street
Light me up that cigarette, and I'll strap shoes on my feet

I'll also add Judas Priest's cover "Diamonds & Rust" and "Green Manalishi," Wilson Pickett's version of "Hey Jude," Carlos Santana's interpretation of "Black Magic Woman," Steppenwolf adaptation of "The Pusher," and The Lemonheads rendition of "Mrs. Robinson."

I came on here to say Judas Priest's Green Manalishi.

I also thought Nirvana's cover of The Man Who Sold the World was pretty amazing.

But my top one would probably be Ike & Tina covering Proud Mary.

(although not sure you can do a cover or yourself by electrifying)

Down votes decide.

Dwight Yoakam's cover of Long White Cadillac was pretty different than the original Blasters version, though it is a lot closer to the version Dave Alvin released solo a few years after the Blasters.

I feel like there's a few other covers Dwight did that are pretty different than the original but can't think offhand.

Whitey Morgan's cover of Towne Van Zan't Waiting Around to Die

I forgot about Dynamite Hack. But if you're going to post that then I have to post The Gourds covering Gin and Juice:

How many people don't realize this isn't Calum Scott's song?

I'm putting the original here because 99% of people think this is the cover and it couldn't be more different from the Scott version.

In arrangement, it wasn't a huge departure from the original Kink's version of "You Really Got Me," but Van Halen's cover of that on their first LP changed the world. Preceded by "Eruption," which was the intro to EVH's amazing chops.

A variac on a Plexi. The brown sound. Still chasing that tone...

ETA: And Valerie Bertinelli was pretty easy on the eyes.
