Respectfully, you go ahead and celebrate whatever narrow genre of music you think is good. Frank Zappa is great, BTW. Meanwhile I'm going to listen and watch this great break-up song a dozen times, and dig those clothes, musicianship, and hair styles to boot.

you are right, generic, fluff pop doesn't fit into my narrow genre of good music.
Brick House...now that fits.

Yep, back in the old days we used to spell it "Commodores".
Cool, laid back song. I was sort of into them back then.

Its the same band and perhaps even the same Commodoors album. We agree so cheers, hermano. BTW, some fluff pop is good listening. Why hate certain musical notes and arrangements?
(edit: left the "e" out of arrangements.)

I like how in the video they show other people singing along with Lionel, but I'm pretty sure that harmony on the recording is just Lionel X 2.

Only Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond....the rest of it is crap!

Sweet song in its day. Nice slow groove.
Commodores were a decent band at one time. They could get funky too
X-Rated Movie

When I was younger I thought this was a love song. Now I realize it is a song about a guy being really pumped up about his divorce and getting ready to get some strange.

Maybe my favorite Commodores song.
Almost a "Lionel Richie featuring the Commodores" type thing, but I love the soft touch McClary has on the guitar.
It's one of those songs that really plugs you into the moment.

Not before my time and that is a nice song. Lionel Richie was great at Endymion last year.

Only listen to it when I'm on the Nightshift.

“Does Barry Manilow know you raid his wardrobe?”
Seriously, always loved “Sail on”, “Easy”, “Still”, and “Endless Love” (Lionel Ritchie/Diana Ross solo). Great stuff from the ‘70’s.

I listened to The Cars debut album and Candy O - so no, it was not the best thing I heard today.
