R.E.M. released their fifth studio album “Document” featuring singles "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" "The One I Love" and "Finest Worksong"
The Jesus and Mary Chain released their second studio album “Darklands” featuring singles "April Skies" "Happy When It Rains" and "Darklands"
U2 released "Where the Streets Have No Name" - the third single from the band’s fifth studio album “The Joshua Tree”
Back then how did we even know that all this was happening on that day?
Was it MTV? I can’t remember others ways we discovered new music. Going to the record shops maybe.
We really had to put in the work didn’t we?
So many ways to find new music now.

I think we walked into the record stores so often that we saw it within days. Definitely went once a week until I had a car, and then more.
Remember when you'd travel to another city and look up their record stores and get all excited?!
Good times.
