Playing at Paragon in March. He’s a huge name in country and someone that I didn’t really think would be already playing the casinos. Is he passed his prime?

That's pretty weird, I'm not a huge fan but he doesn't seem like he would be doing casino shows yet. Looks like they sold quite a bit or the casino is holding a lot of tickets for comps.

Well I can tell you this, daughter and son in law are fans. Scheduled to play St Augustine Amphitheater in March. Bought decent tix for them when first went on sale in early December (level prices pretty expensive). One of the only shows I have seen legitimately sell out there. I was surprised but then again I am not in that loop.

I was kind of surprised to see that. Looking at his tour he's got a lot of arenas on there too so I don't know what the deal is.

Casino's pay twice what a performer is worth. Not surprised.

Tickets are between $90 - 150! F that for a 1.5 hour show with no opener

Casinos are common gigs for plenty of touring acts, regadless of their popularity arc.

Playing the Mohigan, Foxwoods, Agua Caliente, Hilton Vegas etc. etc. are almost as profitable as doing sheds.

As a player or crew, you love these gigs because the venue is a layup, and you’re set with great rooms & food.

Yep, saw the Who at MGM in DC a couple months ago. 2 hours of Townsend and Daltry and off they went.

And I know Chesney plays Mohegan and others. The money must be ridiculous.

you will see more of this from artists, the large venue gigs have run there coarse. Who wants to spend all that money to stand 600 ft. away and watch it on a giant monitor.

He used to tour Holidomes in the midwest in his early days, which really wasn't that long ago. I had a company that provided custom stuff for artists to sell at events for a little extra side money. He was a regular customer, and we we always shipping his stuff to the Holidome in Kokomo or Dayton or someplace similar. They would get crowds of 200 to 400 for events.

Pasley just announced his full scale tour for 2018. I got an email from ticketmaster giving me a preseale code. Yeah, didnt order tickets, but they are cheap. A guy I work with told me he got two floor seats for the show in Nashville and they were only like $55 apiece.

Just looking at the schedule, it looks like he is doing the Houston rodeo the night after the casino date, so he's probably just doing it for that extra money.

Probably nice to mix it up and not just play to a 99% faceless crowd.
