This song always gives me a nostalgic smile.

I said
Everybody one, everybody two, everybody free

Everybody wants to live, like they want to live
And everybody wants to love, like they want to love
And everybody wants to be, closer to free

I remember it as the intro song to Heavyweights.

Love the Bodeans. Saw them a few times back in the day.

After "Love&Hope&Sex&Dreams" my next favorite is "Outside Looking In". Dreams

I've got probably 6 of their albums but nothing stacks up to Joe Dirt Car.

They used to come to Ravinia every year and we'd take the Metra up for the show. Good times. I stopped going after they split up.

Not a ton of well known musicians coming out of Wisconsin so I've gotta support the ones that make it.

Thinking about who else we've got...

Les Paul
Steve Miller
Violent Femmes
Garbage
Liberace
Bon Iver

I think that's about it.

I saw them open for Little Feat (post Lowell George) and they really were outstanding (as opposed to Little Feat who were disappointing that night). I seem to remember the BoDeans going into a rant about how pissed off they were with T-Bone Burnett who was producing an album for them.

Little did they know how big of a deal that guy would become.

He was fairly well known back then too, two of his albums are excellent, don't know why people seem to have completely forgotten about them.

I saw them in BR when they opened for U2 on the Joshua Tree tour in '87. Became an instant fan.
Seeing those two bands on that night was an unforgettable experience.

I was there too--sitting behind the stage, although it was sort of in the round so Bono would march back there too.

I was lucky enough to see the Bodeans at Tip's too.

Ha, I was right there with you brother. To think I slept outside the Cajundome to get tickets and that was the best I could get! You're right though, turned out to be some good seats.
