Sucks to hear, although I'm not terribly surprised.

Well that sucks. They must be paying top dollar to bring in some of these high profile acts. I heard tix for Foo Fighters were insanely expensive (the ones I saw when initially looking were like $300-400). I have a family member who said she spent $1500 for two tix. Sorry but I'm not paying that much to see anyone.

Glad to see the review of the venue. I already hate casino venues. Sound like this one is like all the others but worse.

He may or may not be right, but he sure comes off as a whiney little bitch

Yeah, op sounds very annoying. You paid $25 to go see a band you like at a new venue. Yet, you complain about glow sticks, old people who like the same band, and overpriced drinks at a casino. GTFOOH.

I've talked to several people who were there last night. All had very different reviews from yours.

On the other hand I enjoyed the venue. And I didn’t have to walk through the casino to get there. Walked straight into the Fillmore from the street entrance.

Yes, the crowd was, um, interesting? But it was pretty much what I expected for a southern rock band in 2019.

I was on the floor and did see people buy drinks from the girls with the carts. And my biggest issue was with a douchey 30ish “bro” who was so drunk he kept jumping all over the place like he was in a mosh pit. Good on him for having a good time and being into the music. But have a little self-awareness and realize you are in fact not in a mosh pit and the people around you are not enjoying your jumping into them.

Chris Schifflett was fine. Nothing special last night. I found his songs to be rather pedestrian.

I thoroughly enjoyed Blackberry Smoke. Good musicianship and I enjoy the songwriting. I know some don’t. My favorite thing was watching the “other” guitar player all night. The man loves his job. I don’t think he stopped grinning for a single second. All in all a good show and I will be back to the Fillmore to see shows in the future.

That review of the venue reads like a pretentious hipster douche writing it...

There is no way that the venue is anywhere near as bad as he says it was.

I was there last night and don't really agree with anything you said re: the venue.

And it's not competing with HOB acts; it has more than double the capacity.

I’m going to a show there on 3/24, honestly I’d rather it was at the saenger or the joy but as long as there’s a stage and good sight lines it will be fine. I do agree with the sentiment that livenation is trying to “curate” the concert experience but that only affects the stupid and sheep-like among us

We went Monday night for Foxing and Coheed. The venue was gorgeous, not sure where all the hate is coming from.

If you don't want to stand in a crowd and/or have people bumping into you, then pay the extra money for premium seats instead of general admission.

Why do you have a vendetta against the Fillmore?

No vendetta, just thought it was cheesy and manufactured. Big fan of the Joy as an alternative.

Blackberry Smoke was indeed great, but should still be booked at HOB. Fillmore too big for their crowd here in NOLA. That's a shame they receive no airplay in this town. I see them at the Shed in Maryville TN with about 5,000 Smoke fans each summer at the Brothers and Sisters Reunion.
