One of my favs. Anyone know exactly who the song is referring to? I know the band said a lot of LSU Kappa Sigma members think/thought it was about the fraternity, but they said that was not true.

Supposedly about the whole Rush process at LSU, not just one Frat.

One small example:

Back in the day at LSU, Rushees had to run from the Union to their Frat of Choice on Pledge Day.(this no longer happens)

But it is a direct reference to "I remember running through the wet grass, falling a step behind...

Naw, the lead singer has said many times that it has nothing to do with Kappa Sigs or LSU.

it's mainly about their drummer that committed suicide.

KG made it through pledgeship but his friend didn't.

"finally figured out some things, you'll never know" "let me back inside"

I've never seen where they've said it wasn't about the fraternity. Everytime ive seen them play it live they always give a shout out to the Kappa Sigs in the crowd.

take that for what it's worth.

No, he wrote it after Phil Collins saw his friend drown.

I am a Kappa Sig at LSU and their are lyrics that allude to specific things we do that pretty much make it impossible for this song not to be about it. I asked KG about it when he visited the house and he confirmed it.
