Well texas is far superior as a state than Georgia. That place fricking sucks. Louisiana is better than Georgia

Meh, most states in the south are generally really shitty with some cool parts and a few really cool parts.

Hard for me to really say who is better or worse among Bama/Georgia/Louisiana/Tennessee, etc. Obviously my homer pick would be Louisiana. And obviously Mississippi is the shithole to end all shitholes.

I mean. There are several types of texans. But The people from there generally suck and are uninteresting.

Even MS has some redeeming qualities. The whole Bay St Louis area is pretty much an extension of southeastern LA. Going to shred some wakeboarding out there this weekend actually

The thing about Austin is that it has the most venues per capita in the country. There is something for everyone in several different parts of town every single night of the week. NOLA is a little monocultural musically IMO.

Yeah, Pass Christian is nice.

But I'd say MS is far shittier than the other shitty states we've mentioned.

Going on anything other than my own experience would be foolish. Especially when I haven't heard any redeeming qualities from people not from Texas.

If my experiences change in the future I will change my conclusions.

Yeah the music scenes are very different
Austin is good for blues, country and indie

New Orleans is better for jazz and funk

Let's see, Austin has 2 of the biggest music festivals in the world in ACL and SXSW, plus countless other music fests throughout the year. It's known as the Live Music Capital of the World, which may be self proclaimed, but there is some truth behind it. There a tons of music venues and bars that house live bands every night. The only other cities in the south that have anything like this are New Orleans and Nashville. I've never been to Nashville, so I'll have to say Austin wins.
