I would have if I realized that they formed then. I just assumed they were after 1990, which I see on Wikipedia isn't the case.

For them, I only ever acknowledge the real lineup.

I toured with them. It was frustrating that they were peace punks and no alcohol was allowed. I ate the frick out of their bing cherries though. They always had a killer fruit and veggie buffet backstage.

Add a qualifier to make it interesting.

NOT a Seattle band?

Otherwise Pearl Jam all day every day.

Thought PJ was formed in 1991. Didn't Andy Wood did in 1990? Thus ending Mother Love Bone. I've not seen a show with Vedder in it that's 1990. PJ 20 shows footage of a show supposedly they were only together 2-3 weeks. Pretty sure the year is 91'.

A lot of good bands listed so far. I would add Opeth and Meshuggah. Both are extremely innovative in their own way.

When was GnR formed?

If between 85-90, then there is your answer.

Everyone else is outside looking in.

They sound like they're way older than having formed in 1989 as a throwback hybrid of The Rolling Stones and Tesla.

1985

I'll put them up with my 2, Tool and AIC, but that's it. Too much drama with Axl to put them clearly ahead of those.

I don't think they would agree about Tesla being an influence at all.

If you watched The Black Crowes: Who Killed that Bird... or any of their interviews I don't think you would either.
