That is to say, then, you AGREE with my picks?

Skid Row,
Solid answer, but they are in a gray area re "hair metal". I'd say the 2nd album proved they were just "metal".

Dokken

Love Dokken, but I'd have to say Def Leppard. The Pyromania album was instrumental in shaping the sound of the mid-to-late 80s hair-metal.

But, as others have said, Ratt, Poison and Cinderella belong near the top of the list too.

Certainly in the 80s pantheon, but also hard for me to label them "hair metal". Perhaps it's because of their first few albums?

That qualifies.

Why yes, I occasionally do agree with you...but not in this case. I've never seen you agree with anyone.

Always was a Y&T fan. Meniketti is a great guitarist and singer...

I’m gonna throw Queensrÿche out there and see what happens.

Again, hard for me to call them "hair metal". But they are certainly excellent.

Ratt, their first 4 projects were pure hair metal. The last 2 were a little softer but were still good and not even close to being as soft as Def Leppard. They rocked. Their music was cool and heavy enough and not really edgy.

Great band!
But most definitely not hair metal.
They literally defined "power metal" with the Sirens album...

I always thought Breaking The Chains was a great album. As long as you didn't have to watch that awful video for that song...

I'm all in with Cinderella, Great white, Ratt...
but, I'm gonna throw Whitesnake into the mix, and my wildcard, although not necessarily as talented or nearly as popular, would be KIX.

My pick too….vastly underrated. Jack Blades(of Damn Yankees later) and Kelly Keagey were both phenomenal co-lead singers.

Bro, it's an opinion based post.
If he has a different opinion, that's cool.
I put it out there as a challenge...

Night Ranger put out an absolute banger of an album in the last couple years. Came out of nowhere, yet it’s one of their best.
