Best 10 year period of music

Gotta be 1965-1975.
British Invasion, Acid Rock, Jazz-Rock, R&B, Folk Rock, Progressive Rock, Soul, etc. The beginning of mass cross over, barriers were broken down between genres.
The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, Zeppelin, Chicago, Pink Floyd, The Byrds, Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, The Supremes, Aretha Franklin, Clapton, Marvin Gaye, Grateful Dead, CCR, Cat Stevens, etc, etc. Way too many too list.
I dont think any other 10 year period comes close.

whatever specific range from the mid 60s to 70s you cannot much argue with. You can say best but maybe even more as important. That is the amount of completely new styles and innovations that came into being. It was an entire era when you heard things and realized there had never been anything like it before.

70's music is just that perfect period of time in music where it isn't all poppy, tie dye, summer of love bullshite, and not all the MTV, synth driven bad haircut 80's bullshite.

Sticking with the modern era of rock, I'd favor:
1958 - 1968
Can't leave out - Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Elvis and the like.
