"I wonder do you think of me" might be my favorite.
Truly one of the best voices to ever sing. It is a shame that more people my age don't listen to this music. A country legend

First time I heard him was because of a YouTube suggestion after listening to a different song. The suggestion was "I'm Over You" and I have been hooked since.

He, along with George Strait were the best whose careers began in the 80's. Another good one who sang true country starting in the 80's was John Anderson Later in the decade they were joined by Randy Travis.

If someone asked me this, they would be immediately dead to me.

IMO some of his best songs were with JD Crowe. Those songs can be found on Whitley's "Sad songs and waltzes" cd.
Sad songs and waltzes
Somewhere between
I never go around mirrors
"I never go around mirrors" is also featured on the album "don't close your eyes", however it's a slow version. On "Sad songs and Waltzes" it's very upbeat.
If you haven't heard any of those songs you're really missing out.
I also love
Brother Juke Box
Between an old memory and me
I wonder do you think of me
Miami, My Amy
I'm no stranger to the rain
Lady's Choice
Don't close your eyes
I'm over you

I'll have to check that album out.
He has a little known song called "Buck" (you can find it on YouTube) talking about the sad state of country in the late 80s.
imagine how he'd feel now.

I've been a huge Keith Whitley fan for years, my Mom turned me on to his music and I'm thankful for it, Keith was a legend who was truly a wonderful country singer. He died way too young, but this happens so often in music, so many bright young musicians/singers have died because of alcohol/drugs, and many from other things as well, it's a tragic trend in the music industry. But Keith's music will always live on. I would have to say my favorite song from his is "Miami, My Amy", awesome tune. "I'm No Stranger to the Rain" and "Ten Feet Away" are close seconds.
Keith's son Jesse has followed in his Dad's footsteps and is a great country singer, he has a promising future ahead of him.

The last word of every song he sings. Can't stand him.

Miami My Amy and I'm Over You are top 50 or so country songs without a doubt.

I'm over you. It's a complete country song.

Jesse Keith Whitley sucks. He can't sing for shite and he tries to be his dad, but he sucks. I'm sure he's a nice person though, lol. Listen to his version of "don't close your eyes". He tries so hard to sound like Keith, but it's just bad.
