Curious as to the Board's thoughts on them. Arguably the biggest rock/metal band in the world for this decade, I would think. Put on a great live show as well.

Nothing on the rock charts these days is truly mind-blowing music, but they all seem to be above adequate musicians and their hit-making formula seems to work pretty well.

I think Avenged Sevenfold (2007) and City of Evil (2005) were their best albums. Just couldnt get into much of their music after that. It's definitely not bad, and there's some good jams on their newer albums, but I prefer the older stuff.

They do a good job of ripping off other bands.

Hail To The King is a great jam. I don't really dig anything else of theirs.

Say what you want about them but they are one of only a handful of true hard rock acts that have come out in the last 20 years that can go on an arena tour & actually sell out dates.

I have seen them twice & came away impressed both times. Amazing musicians. Really good songs. They have yet to put out a complete album in my opinion but that is just my opinion. We need to support bands like this to keep rock & metal going in the public eye. If you don't like them fine, that is your choice.

If I had to pick between AS and Rise Against, my ears say Rise Against.

And yet everything I hear from them reminds me of Metallica and Megadeth. Some songs have riffs that are so similar that it is absurd. One of the first things you should do when you write a riff is listen to it and if you hear something that sounds exactly like another song it should be scrapped. It is a big turnoff for me and I really want to like them but I cannot stand a copycat.

I got excited to hear an old school Megadeth song on the radio a few months ago and then the vocals came in. At least they rip off good bands.

I am not faulting them for who they ripped off, just that they felt the need to rip anyone off. They sound like they have great chops, there is no need for that shite. Come up with your own music and base it off of influences that you had. No need to copy though.

Last great album was Nightmare. Newest album was dreadful. Shut up and play Bat Country.
