You mean the smaller system in the guest bedroom?...The white Pro-Ject table was plugged into the old Marantz receiver and was driving the electric blue colored Zu Audio Omen speakers (made in Ogden, UT). Those speakers are "full range", not 2-ways, even though they look like a 2-way. It uses a 10" full range driver and a "super tweeter". They are crazy efficient (99dB)--I am running them with a 15 watt amp.
Zu usually has killer deals on Black Friday...those are normally $1500/pair, but I got them direct from Zu on Black Friday for $1000 delivered.
...Or do you mean the temporary system with the Magneplanars that you heard? (That had no turntable though).

No, that's the one! They sounded great. I'm not sure if I'm getting the most out of my Dali's. Maybe it's my amp. I may take you up on trying out that Peachtree one day.

No problem. Just let me know.
I also have the Emotiva power amp (2x100) as well. It is a ballsy little class A/B amp. The Peachtree is a class D amp (220 wpc into 8 ohms/400 watts into 4 ohms).

I will be available Sunday afternoon/evening.
I have guests from out of town in this weekend, so I will probably be downtown Friday night and Saturday day/night.
Also---I changed out all 8 of the 12AX7 tubes in the McIntosh c500t pre amp (the one in the big system)--it was like I had a new audio system!! I guess the tubes have been degrading slowly over the last few months and I just got accustomed to the sound. I changed them all out this past Saturday and WOW what a difference! It was immediately noticeable and not subtle.
The tubes will have about 180 hours on them by Sunday (on 24/7/365)--so they will be well broken in and probably sounding even better than this past Saturday when I first changed them.
Holla Thursday evening.

So what's your opinion on Emotiva? I've seen very mixed reviews around the web. Are they the cheap Chinese made crap that some claim them to be? Or are they a good value for the audiophile that may not have a lot a cash to spend?

Emotiva is built like a brick shithouse in Kansas, USA. Their stuff is almost overbuilt!
Is is a fantastic bang for the buck. Think of Adcom, Rotel, Sony ES amps, and NAD amps back in the late '80's and early '90's--really great mid-fi gear that all still works 20 years later (with no repairs!). They were heavy, had huge transformers and heat sinks, and sounded really over their price point.
Emotiva is kinda like that.

Awesome! I know it'll sound like Heaven...
I think I'm gonna try and hook up my Bellari pre-amp tomorrow and see if it sounds better than the phono stage on my amp.
Posted on 3/15/16 at 11:54 pm to river_man
You won't know till you try it...does the Bellari offer any capacitive settings for the cartridge? If not, it may be factory set to "wide open", which is 47,000 ohms.
I'll try to read up on it.

Nice! I've been thinking about picking up the Rotel MK 1582 mkII. Do you think I would be better off with Rotel of Emotiva?
Posted on 3/16/16 at 12:54 am to NewIberiaHaircut
I have a Rotel 1075 (5x120) that has been on and operating 24/7/365 for 10 years now. It is bulletproof. While it never drove my main speakers, it was used for surrounds and center, and now runs 4 outdoors and a sub.
If looking at Rotel, stick with their Class A/B amps. Their class D is a little sterile. The 1582 should be able to drive just about any speaker within reason out there (no SoundLab). I don't think you can go wrong with either amp.

My Sturgill vinyl came in from Amazon.
No issues. Plays just fine. Very pleased.

SEC baseball, NCAA tourney, a couple of cold ones, and some tunes...
Got my RHCP "Stadium Arcadium" reissue in today, and man, does it sound great! Awesome pressing to show off your system.

It's like hearing an entirely different album from the CD.
Another great one.

That depends upon the cartridge, not the table. The cartridge will present an electrical voltage and load to the pre amp. Different cartridges have different characteristics and output voltages.
Once you give me the model and make of the cart, I can recommend something.
How do I know this info? I looked at the cartridge and I do not see any info written on it. (make, model, serial)
