Yeah, I don't really care how it was released. That has zero effect on how it sounds.

I thought it was ok but I kept listening and listening thinking it would grow on me. And it never really did. Your mileage may vary. I think it's cool that they have the nuts to try whatever they want but I personally can't get into it anymore.

Eh

It's alright, but like barely even a top 5 album for them

Honestly Radiohead hasn't really released a really great album since like 2003 with Hail to the Thief, imho iyam fwiw fyi btw

They're definitely under consideration for the 90's for me, not 2000's

Yeah, it's not great, but it's definitely not horrible. Dan probably listened to the first 30 seconds of Bloom, thought it was too boring and threw his iPod out of his car window in disgust.

And In Rainbows >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The Bends

My Radiohead album rankings

1. OK Computer
2. Kid A
3. The Bends
4. In Rainbows
5. Hail to the Thief

The rest are about equal and not worth ranking. I like King of Limbs but it's a mood record. I have to be in the mood for it, and I'm rarely in that mood.

Caveat: I absolutely HATED Kid A when it came out. I listened to it a handful of times and was so pissed I shelved the CD and vowed to never listen to it again. A few years later I found it after unpacking from moving and decided to give it another shot and fell in love with it. Cool story.

Btw, the Disco Biscuits are the best band of our generation whether you agree or not. What they did from 2000-2010 was a huge milestone in jam band history.

re: In Rainbows as one of the best albums - I stand by this statement. It's stripped down and rather basic rock and roll feel, which contrasted the electro glitch rock experimentation of Hail to the Thief, reaffirmed that Radiohead could do whatever the frick they wanted to and still make an album sound great. The run of albums from The Bends - Hail to the Thief was so incredible that I thought they were due for a clunker. I was very relived they proved me wrong. The release itself is a story within itself, as there were only 10 days between the announcement and the release. It also was groundbreaking by having an internet-centered release, which is now the norm.

Only a very miniscule % of the "jam scene" would agree with that.

frick the jam scene. It's a bunch of dbags that like shitty bands like WSP, umphreys McGee and lolfish3.0

They're the best jam band of our generation. Arcade fire is probably the best band

I had a crunchy brah convince me to go to a Disco Biscuits show on the promise they were this generation's Pink Floyd. I didn't see anything Pink Floyd about them, but I had fun. Didn't really care for the music, but lots of good drugs to be had. I think that's the last time I candy flipped.

Was the imagine dragons answer on pg 1 serious? They've only had one album right?

I'll go The Black Keys.

I like Arcade Fire but I don't think they deserve that title. And there are tons of bands that put on a better show.

I could name a number of bands that I would like to take the title but it would be personal taste not the general public opinion.

If every genre is in the discussion, Justin Timnerlake probably takes the title.

If you are going that route, I'd say Kanye has been bigger.

They are this generations pink Floyd if they were a jam band with shitty vocals and if roger waters wore a flatbill. It's the synthesizer that brings that aspect and epic covers of songs like run like hell and have a cigar. They did just as much for the edm movement as the jam movement with the creation of camp bisco in 2000. Few have accomplished as much as they have in this generation if any

Eta: was it the 09 show at the Jupiter you went too?

Nah, this was way back in 2001 or 2002 at The Roxy in Atlanta.
