Last time I saw him was 1982, I think. Going to see him in Biloxi in march and was wondering what to expect.

He's pretty awful now. I saw him in September and don't know how he's still playing. He's basically a corpse.

I saw him about 2 months ago and he is too old to sing. He can not sing anymore, very weak. He kind of speaks the words and very shaky. My mother is 94 years old in Louisiana still, and she talks like that. Shaky, choppy, and gets on your nerves after a while. I wouldn't go, sorry to say that, but you'll be disappointed.

Yeah. Not good. He's declined a LOT in the last couple of years. I've seen him like 4 times, and this last time was bad.

I honestly only bought tickets to the show because Isbell and Allison Krauss were opening.

I love Willie, but IMO, he has never been that great live since Ive seen him (90s on).. the first time was okay, but was completely bored the last few times... and prob wouldn't walk out my back door to see him if he was playing in the yard right now..

My Dad saw him not too long ago and said he was on point. Still a great show.

Damn. Maybe my dad is just such a big Willie fan he could have been asleep on stage and would have killed it in his eyes

My complaint is that he so rarely plays with the full band a la Angels Flying Too Close to the Ground. It still amazes me how great that sounds. His preferred setup is basically him, Sister Bobby, the feaux Waylon guy and no drums or bass. Sounds really thin, IMO.

I saw him in December. He was pretty good. I thought he was better than Merle Haggard who I saw the week before.

Saw him in 05 and he sounded perfect, exactly in form to his albums. Obviously ten years is awhile and at his age now it's caught up to him.

I saw him a few years ago at the Varsity. Both shows were good.

Seeing him this Friday night ... I'll let you know if he's till ticking.

I saw him this past summer and thought he played and sang well. Was it like it was 30-40 years ago? Of course not but he's 82 yrs old. Who still sounds great at that age. IMO we are still fortunate to be able to still see legends like him, bb king, Merle haggard, and Jerry Lee Lewis regardless of how they sound.

He played Jackson recently. Has only one octave of range. When he can't go higher, he will point to the crowd.

Saw him last night .. Shoulderchoke summed it up well:

I enjoyed the show a lot. His son did nicely on a blues-guitar song.

My wing-woman noted the dexterity of his fingers and therefore a lack of arthritis. This may be another argument in favor of legalizing medical marijuana
