Are there any cool talented young adult keyboard players, or guitar players who'd be up for jamming to some great pop and soft rock hits as heard on 96.1 The River, as well as creating some original songs together?

Is this an appropriate site to find such a guy?

There is no worse radio station in Baton Rouge, and possibly the entire world, than The River. In fact, in my head, I read this post to the soundtrack of that station, softly playing "Every Breath You Take" by Sting in the background

Those who hate the kind of music I'm into need to learn to express what they don't like in a much more healthier way. How hard is it to just pass a post on by if the music is not your cup of tea. And how hard is it to just state that you don't care for that kind of music and prefer something else?

Why do people feel the need to be aggressive and express their tastes in a hateful, spiteful manner, by saying things like 96.1 The River is the worst station trying to discourage me and others who like that music from listening to it?

No I DIDN'T say that. I don't even like Kenny G's music. His stuff is JAZZ. Elton John might have been the one. Plus, I've expanded my music tastes considerably since then. I don't know what year that was since you didn't put a year, but yeah. I'm into SO much more variety. The artists are way too numerous to list, but here are a few:

Madonna, Richard Marx, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, NSYNC, Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, David Archuleta, David Cook, Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Matt Nathanson, Lifehouse, Maroon 5, The Script, Coldplay, Dashboard Confessional, Jimmy Eat World, Sam Smith, and Adele

Trust me, the problem with 96.1 is NOT that they play too much VARIETY. The problem is that it's like they pick the absolute worst, most over-played songs from every genre and time period and pay them on repeat, and then play the same tired 20 Christmas songs on repeat for 3 months straight.

If you're serious about wanting people to jam with who play a variety of different genres, I wouldn't mind playing some guitar and keyboard, I might be interested.
Not everything I write is hard rock, and a lot of it isn't fit for my band. If you don't mind, could you link some songs you would like to emulate and not just throw out The River as your influence?

ETA: Just saw you did that in another post

Yeah, I'm out

I'd be down to play some cheesy Dashboard Confessional, Jimmy Eat World, Lifehouse, 3 Doors Down, Oasis, or whatever tired bands it is that bars will pay cover bands to play these days

For me personally, it's because I get tired of it always playing in every grocery store. I don't even hate pop music that much, but 96.1 seems to pick the very worst to play and overplay.

Here:

LINK Like A Prayer - Madonna
LINK For Your Entertainment - Adam Lambert
LINK - All In - Lifehouse

These are just THREE examples out of hundreds of different songs that span the 80s to today.

And again, I'm also looking for someone to help me write some original songs. This includes some "REAL" songs that cover some of my personal demons (with a little inspiration from a new discovery called Joy Division), and do a variety of other songs.

I don't mind the Lifehouse stuff since they don't rely on synth and drum machines. I have some songs I've written outside of my band that sound in that vein.

That Adam Lambert song is the definition of cringe-worthy, and I should know

Here's a few I wouldn't mind playing:
Come On Eileen
Use Your Love
Africa
Overkill
Adam's Song
Vindicated
Suspicious Minds
Heaven
Never Tear Us Apart

I agree with you there. As much as I like pop, I haven't heard ANY new music on the station, and haven't heard anything amazing either. I especially haven't heard any good rock, be it something similar to Daughtry or Lifehouse, or something well, unique.

If y'all play Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel and What a Fool Believe by the Doobie Brothers I'd like to be a guest vocalist.

Is there anyone who DOESN'T already play in a band and is a huge synth nerd like me? I'm looking for a few synth and drum machine nerds too.

The reason for that is because I want to create some synthpop and dance-pop stuff, and create some moody synth ballads. Whether guitar is added is a whole different thing. These would be songs that I'd sing, since they would be songs that need my emotion.
