Was never a big fan when I was younger (I'm 41yo now). I've listened to them a lot more in the last 3-4 years and they put out some incredible music. That doesn't necessarily make up for the 2-3 kids I went to school with who thought it was cool to dress and wear their hair and makeup like Robert Smith, but still had some great songs.

Yep.

I even go deep with all the B-sides, vinyl EPs, and 12” singles over the years.

Very much.

Always got lumped into club music and techno because of their audience. But they are a band. And a good one.

I am 49, went to LSU in the '80's - any way I could not be a The Cure fan?? Brings back some great memories.

I was a fan up until Laurence Tolhurst was kicked out. Who's with me?

I'm the Cure fan who only knows Robert Smith. I could not name another member.

Never liked them when younger (my brother was a big fan), but have come to appreciate them more over the years. One thing you can say about them is that they define the word original. There is only one Cure, before or after them, and I respect that.

Not sure that they, or The Smiths, get the credit they deserve. I think that because of the goth nature of The Cure and the self-loathing/gayness of Morrissey, these bands don't get the credit for being amazing musicians.

Definitely in my top five bands of all time.

Robert Smith is a musical genius.

In the early eighties, The Cure was touring with Souixsie and the Banchees. Well they lost their guitarist while on tour. Robert Smith stepped up and played 2 shows a night for the remainder of the tour.

That’s a musician for you!

I was in my early teens when that came out and decided to buy the album because a girl I liked was a cure fan.

I hated it on the first listen and felt like I wasted what little money I had.

Since I had spent so much money on it, I decide to keep giving it a listen. It ended up becoming one of my favorite albums. I have never had an album grow on me like that.

Disintegration is one of my top 5 albums. You can’t jusg pick and choose a song though. You have to just put it in and listen the whole album through. It’s an experience. It’s therapeutic. Absolute masterpiece.

Ahhh “Cure Girls”. Black long sleeve shirt or Cure concert tee that was black but now charcoal or gray from wear and being slept in. Blonde or black hair (always opposite of natural) pale make up and dark lipstick. Smoked Cloves or smelled of Cloves. Many back then still were trying to look like women.
