It is nothing like his other stuff. A lot more story telling songs and less of his life

Cool. I'll add that to my list of SWPL. I'm trying to entice white people to move to Carson so that my property value will go up. So far we have an IKEA, but really not much after that.

Everyone love turnpike

AA is great too but they're probably not considered red dirt. Regardless, they're awesome and worth seeing live.

Well AA is from Raleigh, NC so I don't think qualify for "red dirt"

But I'll take them over everyone else in the genre save turnpike.

Turnpike Troubadours
Reckless Kelly
Randy Rogers
Wade Bowen
Micky and the Motorcars
Jackson Taylor
Jarrod Birmingham
Florida Georgia Line
Jason Eady

I'm just going to list alt country bands I don't see any sense in limiting the genre to Texas/Oklahoma like the red dirt label does.

Turnpike Troubadours
Sturgill Simpson
Dirty River Boys
Hayes Carll
Slaid Cleaves
Jason Boland
Mickey and the motorcars
Reckless Kelly
Cross Canadian Ragweed
Cody Canada and the Departed
John Moreland
Austin Lucas
Cory Branan
American Aquarium
Lucero
The Band of Heathens
Ryan Bingham
Shovels and Rope
Belle Adaire
Jason Isbell
The damn quails
Bob Schneider
Will Hoge

Another list of great bands
I'm now on a turnpike troubadours streak. Can't get enough honestly. Those other bands always come on my pandora station for TT, so there's so many bands to explore!
