I was down on the genre about 5 years ago but I have found that I really enjoy a lot of it.
Any fans? What do you rock? Or synth out to?
Some of my recent favs:
Young Galaxy - We have everything - I know, you could argue this is shoegaze. Maybe its both? Either way I really like the whole album.
Chromatics - Kill for love - One of my favorite tracks of 2012.
Cut copy - Hearts on Fire
Craft Spells - After the moment
I was a huge synth pop fan back when I was like 15 (late 80s), and full of angst, I rocked erasure, depech mode, talk talk, new order, and all that other 80s crap. i can't listen to most of it now. Wonder if I will feel the same in 20 years.

VETO:
You Are a Knife
Blackout
Digits (live with Lucy Love)
If you like this stuff at all, you can also check out other stuff by the singer, Troels Abrahamsen. Dude has a great voice. His best known solo work is under the name SuperTroels.

And I'm including Battles, but they are way more than synthpop
Tonto
Futura
Atlas
Ice Cream (feat. Matias Aguayo)
The last song will probably sound familiar. A few ads have used it.

Thanks....I will check these out. I am familiar with the battles, and I wouldn't call them synth pop. Some of it is great, and some of it sounds like I threw my cat in a blender.

favorite synth pop song
you have excellent taste in music. I lost the knife in the great hard drive crash of 201. I will re-torrent.

Silent Shout is one of my favorite albums of the 00s. Top ten for sure (even though that isn't where Heartbeats comes from)

The Knife is so incredible.
ETA: The live version of Heartbeats is 1000000x better than this one IMO

What about Purity Ring? Are we considering that synth pop?
They're very similar to The Knife in that dark/deep synth pop way.

I LOVE The Knife Heartbeats song. Had actually not heard of it until about a year ago on this board. Either you The Seaward posted it. Purity Ring sounds pretty good too.

Yeah, I'd definitely call Purity Ring synth-pop. I always think of them as a poor man's The Knife.
Grimes is another good one from this year.

Absolutely. One of my favorite genres. Sorry I don't have anything to contribute off the top of my head.
