In the Bay Area for work. Never had the chance to see this band as I don't live near a big city. What's the proper etiquette for going to a show by myself? It's at an intimate venue.

Go, drink a whiskey, have an awesome time. They are a super fun band and I bet they would even join you for a drink

what, you think there is a rulebook about this?

I think you should be able to handle it. I do it often while on the road. shite my first time rolling to a show solo was during a family vacation to NYC and I was very young. It was Parliament-Funkadelic. Fun stuff.

I've flown solo a few times when friends passed out after jazzfest and I wanted to catch late night shows. Just grab a drink, and if it's crowded, just blend in with them.

Don't be the weird dude rolling around the venue looking like a lost sad puppy.

Eyes on the ground at all times, if you've got sunglasses go ahead and put them on. Drink two to three times more than you normally would. Over tip the bartender and try to make awkward conversation with him while he's too busy to hear what you say. Hang out outside the bathroom most of the night and act like you're waiting for your significant other. Just follow these steps and you'll make it out fine.

One of the better first time posts that I've ever seen.

People do go to shows by themselves. It's not that hard. Just do what you would normally do, minus the friend part. Heck, you can even talk to a stranger or two. But, do that at your own risk.

If you find a spot you like, ask the person / people next to you to save your spot when you go to the bar / bathroom. After they agree, you are then obliged to buy them a drink.

Well, that's my rule. I enjoy going to shows alone.

Thanks guys. I'll probably go early to see Cody Canada and have a few drinks. Should wear off by the time the shows over so I can drive back to my hotel. Very excited for the show.
