I still haven't listened to the Dexateens new album. How is it compared to all the others?

This is the type of thread where I find new shite to listen to. Headed to spotify...thanks all!!

Burlee. Actually, this is not the type of thread. These same guys repeat these same damn artist year after year.

They should change the thread title to Indie Rock Albums of the Year.

Theres a few songs on that Deakin album that are better than anything AC has done since maybe Merriweather PP

It's a little slow sometimes but I like it

There are probably around 100 unique artists in this thread and while it may be indie rock heavy, there are plenty of other genres represented.

It is good, I would still put Fall Be Kind and PB's TomBoy ahead of it, but thats about it. Centipede hz grows on me with every listen.

Kaizen. Since we are naming albums of the year. It helps the readers if you actually name the album. Thanks.

i.e. Jim James - Eternally Even

I still can’t pick between Car Seat Headrest or Deakin for my AOTY.

Lots of new stuff to check out, I had no idea jagwar ma had a new album out. Nor GOAT.

I love both of them. Will give Deakin a chance, I listened to one song but didn't listen to much else when it came out.

AS for my AOTY, car seat headrest is it. This is the best album since War on Drugs album in 2014. Holy shite is it good.

Other contenders....

black mountain - IV - I wasn't a giant black mountain fan, but this really turned me onto them.
Heron Oblivion - This album is absolutely amazing. Her voice makes me want to cry.
chairlift - moth

Mitski, Whitney, m83, thee oh sees also had great releases this year.

Also, Sheer Mag's III EP is fricking fantastic, but its only 3 songs.

lots of great music this year, but CSHR is by far the best.
