What a freaking awesome band. My parents used to play the 8-track in our house when I was growing up and I used to hate it. Listening to their songs now and they were really really good.

Don't listen if you don't want a song stuck in your head for three days LOL

The first thing that comes to mind when I hear an Air Supply song is my college friend Joel.

His girlfriend at the time loved this band and for her birthday, he took her to New Orleans, bought her a nice dinner, and took her to an Air Supply concert.

He thought he had executed the perfect birthday for his girlfriend and then when they were walking down Canal St to his car, she started crying. He asked her what was wrong and she said, "it's my birthday, and you didn't get me a card".

She got kicked to the curb with the quickness after that. I can't even contemplate the rage he must have felt with a response like that after having to endure an Air Supply concert.

Air Supply makes me think of the scene from Malcolm in the Middle where Malcolm and Reese each think the other one is gay and Dance to Take a Chance on Me.

Edit - Nevermind, I get Air Supply and ABBA confused.

When I think of Air Supply I recall the glorious 30-minute infomercial they hosted for Time Life's Soft Rock CD set. It aired quite often in the middle of the night, featuring the two of them seated in what looked like the Golden Girls' living room sipping lemonade and strumming their acoustic guitars. There was a spokeswoman who joined them and beamed, "I can't believe I'm sitting here with Air Supply!" My wife and I vegged out on the couch many times after a fun night out and watched this. Good times.

It is embarrassing to me that I liked them that much back then.
