And suddenly I feel really old.
I remember going to see the disintegration tour, the last cure tour EVAH (ha). It was a pretty shitty show to tell you the truth, they played for less than an hour.

Great catch! I was a junior in high school on this date. I knew of only the popular songs back then (i.e. "Love Song", "Pictures of Your", etc.), and downloaded the whole album a few years back. Every song on the album is good. My only complaint is that it could benefit from digital remastering as it sounds kind of murky to me (Robert Smith might've wanted that though, to make the album even more depressing).

Absolutely fantastic album.
Oh to have been at The Cure's Trilogy concert where Pornography, Disintegration, and Bloodflowers were played in their entirety back to back to back.
What a fricking live show that would have been to attend.

That album changed my life, really. At the time it came out, I was 18 and all I knew was classic rock and metal. I can still remember the exact spot I first heard Fascination Street. One spring evening I'm driving down Florida Blvd from downtown in my old Monte Carlo smoking a joint and just for shite's and giggles I put the radio on KLSU around Acadian, and right at the time I got to N. Foster, Fascination Street came on. I had good sound system for the time, and my mind was blown by that tune. It opened up a whole new world of music for me. Not long after I got turned onto Jane's Addiction and that was all she wrote.

Saw them at the old Omni in Atlanta during that tour. Remeber thinking Robert Smith is a dwarf, and I was shocked by his guitar skills. He dove off into 30 minute jams on several of thier songs.

I'm with you on this visual but please tell me it was an SS that was the maroonish tone over the black or white version.
As far as The Cure, I'd rank my top 5 as:
1. Head on the Door
2. Seventeen Seconds
3. Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me
4. Pornography
5. Disintegration
I never really got into anything post Disintegration.

Loved Disintegration, was in high rotation for late 89, 90, and 91, but was a dark pouty Gothic depressing album. Girlfriend loved it as well.
Their UNO concert in Sept 1989 was an epic three hour set, with three encores.
Disintegration dominated my car's CD player in 1989, Depeche Mode's Violator in 1990, U2's Achtung Baby and Pearl Jam's 10 in late 1991. Garth, The Mats,etc..
