Creed Listening to even one song by Creed invokes a sea of nausea, as if your brain is fried from watching “Two and a Half Men” reruns for 24 hours. As Spin magazine put it, they’re like “Nickelback before there was Nickelback.”
This is probably the same guy that helped creed reach ELEVENx PLATINUM ONEx DIAMOND. Everybody knows that as soon as someone made some stupid reason to hate the band because they were successful, it all came down and was popular to hate them. As you can see in Alterbridge, they are refrickulously talented and always make catchy songs. People hate them because they were successful. Their downfall was the bad blood between Brian Marshall and Scott Stapp. When everyone saw that that hated the band for no reason, they jumped on it and ultimately crushed them with the media's help.
A lot of the people who hate them are the same people that helped Creed's human clay album become one of the most successful albums in the history of music. They are a damn good band but Scott has seen better days. Ill admit he's a douche though.

Not denying his talent, but I despise John Mayer.
The Blues Traveler honorable mention is bullshite. They clearly based it on the one overplayed radio song they've ever heard by the band.

I just had the pleasure of hearing Smashmouth and Sugar Ray along with a few other acts at the Stone Pony a couple of weeks ago.
Yeah, brah. I want to play that one Sugar Ray song at my wedding. "Put your arms around me baby....just wanna fly"
Yeah.

Blink 182
Blink 182 began as an attempt to wean tweens off of boy bands, except they soon turned into self-parody when teenagers began to like them in earnest, ushering in an unforgivable era of wannabe-pop-punk rockers like Good Charlotte, Avril Lavigne and Jimmy Eat World.

Really?
Hate, no. Like go out of their way to bash. I've seen them made of, etc., but not significant enough to hate.

I'm not really sure the point of the article. I do think that's a decent list of the 15 most critically reviled bands of the past 30 years. But there's no real analysis as to why or even a contrary opinion. It's just like stating: here are 15 bands critics hate.
Um, ok. So now what?
Though I do rather enjoy people getting defensive that the band they like isn't widely despised. It's okay if you like a "hated" band. It doesn't mean you have to start hating them.

I like Blink 182 and don't think I've ever met someone who hates them.

I guess I don't hate them but I certainly don't like them. Never really have, even as a kid.

Is Phish more frat than WSP?
Neither.
Both are terrible.

Do you hate everything, EXCEPT telling everyone why they should hate everything? Then you're perfect to be a music blogger!! Why develop a talent, or even appreciate someone else's, when you can marinate in your cocoon of complacency and bash other people's attempts?
While this writer might be right about most of these bands, this is the worst kind of person on the planet.

Do you actually know anyone in a frat or spent anytime around them? Your comments make me think the answer is no.
