But my unpopular take is a resounding no to Field of Dreams. I watched it recently for the first time and it was so hard to watch. It was Disney for an older audience. Such a stupid, unbelievable movie with so many cobbled together parts that didn’t seem to fit.

Took a girl on our first date to go see Field of Dreams when I was in college. Didn't understand exactly what it was going to be about...her father had died less than a year before the date. Oops.

Wyatt Earp

I think Wyatt Earp would have been better received had Tombstone not come out the year prior. Wyatt Earp was much more historically accurate than Tombstone but most found Tombstone far more entertaining, mostly because of Val Kilmer's portrayal of Doc. I still have no clue what accent Kilmer was going for as the original Doc Holliday was from Georgia.

Yes! These 3. The perfect variety of Drama, Comedy, and sentimental cheese. I'd have Dances with Wolves as #1.

It's very obviously that Costner truly cares about and is really interested in stories of the west, the Cowboys and Indians and having men be men in his movies.

Yikes! Poor girl! My daughter in law (no pics) and I went to see Mamma Mia 2 in the theater not really knowing the story line other than that it was a continuation of Mamma Mia. Her mom passed away about 3 months earlier. It was rough.

Hot take: The Untouchables is a VERY flawed movie. While it does have some good moments, they are outweighed by some atrocious acting and worse dialogue.

bullshite. Here endeth the lesson.

Terrible

Reminds me of a dumb friend who took a first date to see Irreversible (didn't know the plot)

like most, I prefer Tombstone but WE is very good and is very quotable. The woman is far hotter too.

If you're not careful, you'll see me once too often, Johnny

So, if any of you want Tommy, you want me, come up front with these brave men, and we'll all go together.

In my defense...knowing Field of Dreams being about his father would have been a spoiler...it was new, and I didn't know anyone who had seen it yet.

I love this damn movie. Baseball nostalgia peak for me.

Clear the mechanism.

It's almost 100% bullshite but it is brilliant film making. So many great roles with actors chewing up the scenery.
