Decided to jump on the “watch it early” bandwagon and downloaded the app

Well that ending… I have questions …

That episode... holy shite.

I also read this on the wiki page:
quote:

In the pilot's opening scene, a flash-forward shows a group covered in fur clothing. Hanratty (Misty) was the only cast member present while the scene was shot and the other characters were played by stunt coordinators. Hanratty says the writers have not told the cast which characters appear in that scene: "We all have our theories on who that is too, and we have a group chat in our cast where we try to come up with theories ourselves of what's going on and who we think is who."

That’s a pretty cool idea. The wiki page has tons of info about the show also in terms of how they filmed it, character selection, direction of the show etc.

Ugh, SO many questions and I didn't see a preview for next week's episode at the end of this one.

The Phantom of the Opera theme playing while Misty was doing Misty things was pretty funny.

Everyone is certainly acting like Jackie is dead, so I'm starting to think she actually died in the woods at some point.

Now that Taissa has decided that she's going to head South to try and get help, maybe we finally encounter the cult/group that HAS to be out there, right!?

Wtf was going on with the deer that they killed? Belly full of maggots?

What was happening at the ending? My tv was too damned dark to see who was doing what.

Taissa was outside eating dirt when Nat texted her about dropping off the money. So maybe Taissa is the woman the son sees in the tree outside his window???

As it was happening, this was my initial thought as well.

Also, when lottie was running through the woods , given later what we see at the end of the episode , can we assume she actually did see Taissa eating dirt with that demonic look on her face and that part was not a dream or premonition ?

Of course taissa denied it when lottie asked her though.

Speaking of, Lottie with some Final destination powers there at the beginning

That was my thinking too. Definitely the best episode so far, as far as blending flash backs and current time lines. I too have so many questions. Where is Shauna's husband sneaking off to? I feel like an affair is too easy. Taissa eating dirt like in Lottie's "vision". I think whoever posted that was spot on about the religious girl somehow egging on Lottie's visions which may play a big part later. However, so Lottie as a kid had powers, just like Taissa's son? They need to release these two at a time

ETA: am I crazy or were there different scenes cut into the intro credits? I thought I noticed new flashes of footage I hadn't noticed last week (as well as from the first episode with it). Maybe I'm crazy.

Yes, I think she did actually see Taissa eating dirt. If you recall in the earlier scene where Taissa and Van are naked in the river, Van mentions how dirty Taissa's hands are, so Taissa has likely been eating dirt out in the woods before Lottie saw her.

I think there were. I noticed a shot of the lit motel sign in the credits, and then an almost identical shot was shown during the episode. I don't recall previously seeing that specific shot in the opening credits?

Same, I didn't remember the seance scene being in the credits last time. Which would make sense as that was a pretty big unseen event coming and it would make sense not to ruin it. Then again, I could be crazy as the credits are all quick cuts.

Also, eating dirt if she is doing that, that is very strange in the absence of a supernatural reason. I guess if you had to do it, but I'd think you'd eat bugs and leaves before dirt. It looked like she has blood on her hand in the final scene like she'd been biting her arm, but my tv brightness wasn't super bright, but she was obviously in the flowerbed.

I fast forward through the credits... its so creepy and then it feels like its gonna turn to 90's scrambled porn at some point as it goes.

I just like to get to the actual show.

Yep I think Taissa is the “lady in the tree” that Sammy keeps seeing. Couldn’t tell from the scene, did she bite herself and that’s why she was bleeding?

I’m guessing Lottie really did see Taissa in the woods eating dirt

Past that, I have no idea what’s coming next

ETA: I thought for sure Lottie was going to drown Laura Lee out there. Thankfully she didn’t - I like ol Laura Lee

Good show. Wish they spent more time on the girls in the woods tho.

Can someone spoil something? Is there a cult tribe already in the woods?

Did anyone else see the perfect view of lottie getting the lantern? The antlers on the wall lined up perfect behind her head. Maybe foreshadowing

Um... 100 percent, did you watch the last minute? She was pretty much in the tree outside her house?

Also Laura Lee has some hangers. Hope we get to see her dump em out later in the season as her visions get stronger.

She dies in the first two minutes of the show. The girl that falls on the spikes is wearing the necklace that Jackie gave to Shauna on the plane and then shauna gives back to jackie in this episode...so I think we can assume Jackie is dead (unless she gives the necklace away again).
