I didn’t mind trilogies like the Coon, Black Friday, and Imagination Land but some of the other stuff especially Tegridy Farms had become worn out

They’re in a contract dispute between max and paramount.

well whatever happens i hope they at least give the show a proper send off.

seems wrong to just let it fade away.

They wanted to end a long time ago, but Paramount keeps throwing money at em

And they threw all the money at buying and then fixing/rebuilding the inside of the Casa Bonita?

I am sure they could afford it, but watching that documentary it went way above their initial estimates of new carpet and some paint.

I wasn't a fan of them going to serialized storylines myself, I prefer when the episodes were self contained.

I did like the Black Friday/Game of Thrones storyline.

For some reason I thought the GOT opening song themed chorus went “Floppy wiener, Floppy wiener, Floppy wiener”, but when I looked at a few sites online they have the chorus lyrics as “ wiener, wiener, wiener“.

I might have mixed up what was said by a character and the words of the the song.

Of all the adult animated shows, I feel like South Park has the highest highs and lowest lows. One week its great and the next week its awful.

The quality dropped off immensely around 2010. I can't even imagine how bad it must be today.

You're projecting.

Sorry for whatever happened to you around 2010.

They originally wanted to stop years ago but it's pretty hard to say no to bags of money being tossed your way for less and less work.

They mentioned a month or so ago that they're planning on a new season later this year along with their already planned Paramount specials

Yep. They said they didn't want to do a season during the election year and they are trying to work out legal issues with Paramount.

So we should see something this year.

I've loved the last 10 seasons or so. It got a little hit or miss for me around 2009-2014 I think, but even with that, the show is the GOAT of comedy shows. I don't think any other show has been able to maintain quality as much as South Park for as long as they've done it. We are playing with House Money at this point. I never expected the show to last more than 10 seasons, but now we are approaching 30 very soon. I don't think they are tired of doing the show...I think people thought that may be the case because they once said that they can't imagine doing South Park in their 50's. But they did an interview after speculation on the "You're Getting Old" episode and said that they will keep doing it as long as they like. I think Trey and Matt will do it forever and at whatever pace they like, because they can't really get cancelled. If Paramount or Viacom drops them, they will just get picked up by another streamer easily. Or they could independently put out their content if they choose.

Sold out. The last true season was the introduction of PC Principal which was a great season but it hasn’t been very good since then outside of a couple episodes here and there.

Selling out would be putting up full 20+ episode trash seasons written entirely by staff writers instead of paring down the effort to something they can still handle.

I think they’re both worth around $700 million which is insane but considering how much they do aside from South Park including a broadway play it makes sense
