How an activist named Terry Rakolta tried—and failed—to convince Middle America to stop watching “Married … With Children.” She might have saved Fox.

If memory serves, the Christian Right had the most beef with the show, with the depiction of sex and "vulgarity".

Has had a sneakily incredible career. Two long running sitcoms, some movies sprinkled in, and some voice acting credits, too.

South Park gets away with it because that’s always been their MO since the beginning. It’s satire and has pulled no punches in making fun of everyone and everything for, what nearly 25 years now? It’s hypocritical of any particular group to call them out when they also make fun of their counterparts, or every other group under the sun.

SP also has a rabid and dedicated fan base. If anything, the complaint in recent years has been the lack of more episodes.

One of the most valuable TV commodities ever along with Homer Simpson.

Both made the new Fox network and brought loads of viewers to the new network along with millions in revenue

Don’t remember him mentioning race or gays much.

The show didn't mention race much but gay stereotypes were often used for a laugh.

Political correctness is destroying this nation.

Al Bundy may be sexist, but he was absolutely no racist.

Also, the episode where he becomes buddy with the gay guy is absolutely hilarious.

I'd like to see him an Archie Bunker in a debate.

The two GOATS.

Would be absolutely incredible to see these two together.

Those were the good ol' days.

They even let Marcy direct the episode all the girls get their periods at the same time. The one where they take a trip to like a cabin or something. They anticipated controversy, so they wanted Amanda Bearse to direct it.
