The Varsity Blies play was a backwards lateral. Hook and ladder play.
One thing that always bothered me on Varsity Blues is that the team had zero assistant coaches... Case in point: after the kids run off the head coach at half time, no other coach steps up to do anything. Just the backup QB calling in all the plays....

I never understood the clock scene either. It made me think Texas high school football had stupid rules.

If that's the case then Rudy's brother is probably pointing to the jumbo-tron.
Kind of funny you mention that, because ND Stadium actually still does not have a jumbotron or video board. It's a huge debate over whether to get one between some of the younger fans/students/subway alumni vs. many of the older alumni, who absolutely do not want a jumbotron in ND Stadium under any circumstance.
Sorry for the brief hijack, but it's not like this was an extremely intense thread or anything.

Back to the Future 3 already sucked. But the kid at the end pointing to his junk is the reason I can't watch it at all now.

Why do so many people insist upon posting the first thought that pops into their little minds?

Braveheart is one of my favorite movies, but at the end after Wallace gets killed and the Scottish army charges the English, the red-haired guy's axe is so unbelievably clearly made of flimsy rubber it nearly ruins the emotional ending. It's fluttering in the breeze as he runs and everything.
Also in some of the fight scenes you can see extras just dicking around in the background. I've seen the movie too many times.
Agreed with everything in this post.
I'll still love this movie till the day I die though.

Varsity Blues
There were a bunch of cringe-worthy scenes in this movie. The "impassioned" speech Moxon gives the coach in the locker room.

How about the scene in Rudy where Vince Vaughn and a few other guys are in the parking lot...and there is a Ford Explorer in the background

I never noticed that because I was always trying to wrap my mind around how anyone could possibly construe Rudy as a "show boat". It just seemed like poor writing.

The one that always sticks out to me in Braveheart is when Wallace is charging into battle with his sword in hand. They cut away and come back and his sword is sheathed and he has an axe, cut away and come back and sword again. Bugs the shite out of me every time haha

Have you seen their offense? Paul Johnson doesn't pass much.

Harris retired from the Cleveland Indians and went and coached the Goonie at Notre Dame.

Hly shite! I stand corrected. I never knew he was the O'Hara kid.
My apologies.
