Let me preface this by saying I was extremely high watching this last night, but I remember thinking the cgi was so blatantly bad I thought it was done on purpose Bc 80s and all.

No. TAS was a solid film with an eh finish.
TAS2 still has decent action and CGI.

At least we can finally get over the bullshite about Max Lord being a Trump avatar in this film. He couldn't have been further from Trump (present day or 80's).
If anything he was a goofy Christopher Reeve villain, closer to Luthor or the Luthor knockoff they used in III.

But the boy’s name and casting are just cringe-worthy. He looks southeastern Asian. If there was an adoption explanation, I missed it. And they referenced the boy’s mother but no explanation of their history.
But man they sure spent a lot of time flying through fireworks, having an ’80s fashion show, and lassoing lightning bolts!

Why are people hung up on this? Just assume the kid is adopted or something.
Jeff Goldblum's daughter in Lost World was black, but no one cared. It's not something that requires an explanation.
