I don't really know what they were trying to go for here.

Entertaiment Weekly link

Here's the original scene for comparison:

looks like they missed the entire point of the scene and/or thought it could be flipped for feminism

And that count missed the Paul Allen shimmy at the "No can do".

That was so cool cause it was a scene that we all know but it was done with girls this time!! It's so creative and awesome.

Am I late to the party in just now realizing that Louis is Gavin Belson?

It doesn't work because white collar women in the workplace are actually like that all the time. It's women acting like men acting like women.

The acting was so bad I half expected them all to get naked

Some things this world can do without, and this attempt is one of them.

exactly

the whole point was to show these alpha dudes acting like chirping birds

re-making the scene with actual girls just makes it look like a normal day at the office (With shite acting)

they literally picked the worst kind of scene possible

Also, for every one on this board who said Ghostbusters was just a movie and not part of a bullshite feminist agenda:

quote:

month before the Ghostbusters remake prepares to hit theaters, comedian Dani Faith Leonard launches Swapped, a new video series gender-swapping famous movie moments. First up, the business card scene from American Psycho.

I don't know but is it just me or did every actress have either a massive underbite or overbite?

Looking past the glaring "missed the whole point" feel of the clip, can we talk about the shitty production value.

The cards weren't even printed on card stock. They were clearly bent and regular printer paper. The girls looked disheveled at best.

That's was a horrendous remake of that scene.

Does anyone fricking proofread that website?

quote:

The way that women are represented in media might seem like a micro-problem, but movies have the power to influence the way we view the world,” Leonard said in a statement accompanying the series’ premiere on Refinery29. “Women on have 31 percent of all speaking roles and are more likely to be princesses or moms than to sit at a board room table. Representation on screen in a direct result of the lack of diversity behind the scenes.”

If you're trying to make the point that women can do anything men can do, you might not want to load the opposing argument's gun for them.

When I first read the thread title I though it was going to be the Margo Robbie "Australian Psycho" scene. LINK

i just watched scene for scene and i was going to make a similar point. that 34d card looked like it used the calibri font

quote:

the actress playing pat bateman literally either missed the point or can't act angry

it looked like her choice was to re-make his anger/aggression into passive aggressiveness

the whole point of that scene is to establish his unmitigated and irrational hatred of paul allen. something so fierce that, combined with his aggressive nature, shows why he'd kill him over the most ridiculously materialistic and anti-masculine reasons

that actress played that scene like her ultimate revenge would be not inviting paul allen to her birthday party
