Like I am going to research whether a character on a show that went off the air about 30 years ago was actually a real SEAL or a UDT guy that is still technically a SEAL for all practical purposes. That's really not high on my give a shite meter. I just remember Magnum wore a Trident on a hat, maybe a shirt. Forgive me.

So the new Magnum is Ricky Martin?
Perdita Weeks (Read Player One, Penny Dreadful) will be Hernandez’s co-star in the gender-swapped role of Juliet Higgins.
She is described as "commanding, confident, and tough, who uses sarcasm to deflect emotion and is hard to get to know."
And here we go.
TC will most likely be gay and had a former fling with Magnum.
And Rick will be a former woman turned man (and the most decorated SEAL in history as a Woman.)

Cobra Kai did diversity well. So well in fact most people do not notice it. They made a point to make the story great, not beat you over the head with Gender or diversity casting.

That reminds me of the time the regiment were stranded in the Sudan. We had bloody little to eat, so we drew lots on who's toes we'd have for lunch. I remember old Rupert, he was quite a strapping lad, had the largest and most suculent toes. We were able to subsist on just four of his for a week, seasoned with a little salt from his perspiration. Oddly, I still find myself missing the taste .... Would you care for a sausage, Magnum?
See, that was part of the charm of the show. And while this chick is quite the hottie, I just can't imagine her whipping out tales like that. And therefore, it won't be anything like the original.

Original Magnum used some of same set of original Hawaii Five-0 and even referenced Steve McGarrett a couple of times the first season

I remember three episodes where Magnum was either stuck beneath an old plane: or an elevator, or having to stay afloat in the ocean for hours. Great show

This is the best post in the whole thread. The Magnum / Higgins thing wasn't just part of the dynamic, it was on every single episode. They can't have that with a hot chick, I would have preferred they cast some big butch at least. Now all I will be thinking is that Magnum secretly wants to bang Higgins. That just ruins it.
