Will Infinity War outsale Black Panther at the Box Office.

Note: This is not a comparison of the quality of the movies of which will be the better movie. Only, which movie will make more money(deservedly so or not). There's no doubt in my mind(or likely any credible critics' mind) that IW will be a great movie that will be very successful and profitable. So obviously that is not the question.
I thought Black Panther was a really enjoyable movie that I would see again, but it also surprised me with how much money it brought in. It was definitely not the best or even top 3 MCU movie. (I have it at 6) It did a great job of bringing in casual viewers who were not previously MCU fans.
Will these same casual viewers also come out for Infinity War?

Black Panther might settle in at 675M+ domestically when it's all over with, prob $1.4B global take.
In comparison the first 2 Avenger movies grossed 623 and 459, respectively.
Infinity War taking in 700M domestic would be incredible.

Easily? You do realize black panther is already the number 2 all time domestic superhero movie and number 7 domestic all time

I doubt it...I'd be shocked if it beats BP for the opening weekend but maybe it could top it by longevity.

It'll bring in the same people who see Avengers movies, which is a lot of people. It will not bring in the same people who saw Black Panther.

But this one will have much more hype to fuel the staying power if its a good movie to boot.

Yeah, and judging by the fact that they clearly lose their infinity stone, they get the asses kicked.
Me thinks mere months after being refreshingly shown a liberated and strong culture they get subjugated by the purple man woht be taken over well by the group you are pointing at.

Yes. The entire front row in my viewing of Black Panther was a bunch of old black ladies with walkers who took a bus from an old folks home. Those ladies know BP but they aren't too concerned with the rest of Avengers. Unless the commercials end up being 90% BP they're not pulling that type of viewer back until BP 2.

A ton of people went and saw black panther just because it was called black panther and don’t give a shite about super hero movies. I won’t be surprised if Infinity War makes more money but don’t think it’ll be easy by an stretch

I'm not pointing at any group. I was responding to a comment.
Also, are you all aware that the first trailer is the all time record holder for youtube views in the first 24 hours?
It also broke the record for Fandango pre-sale tickets sold in the first 24 hours for any superhero movie in history. and it did it in just 6 hours. (FYI, the previous record holder was black panther.)

When I saw it I’d say about 20% of the theater weren’t even watching the movie. They were just there to be there

keep in mind that easily outselling BP means a probable 750+M domestic take, that's not easy at all, imo, especially with summer competition heating up only a few weeks after its release. Black Panther has gone virtually unimpeded in box office attention.

Infinity War should hit $1.5 billion, though it has a lot more competition than Black Panther. Deadpool 2 comes out 2 weeks after. Black Panther has had over a month basically unchallenged at the box office.

Depends on if it’s as good as the first Avengers
If it is then yes because it’s the culmination. If it’s kind of a bomb like Age of Ultron then it might settle around $600mil domestically. Still, if it’s good as Ragnarok, Civil War, etc. then it will put up crazy numbers

Did Rian Johnson direct it? If not, yes Infinity War will do better than Black Panther. I think Infinity War will give TFA a good go.
