That's a little much. I agree they shouldn't race swap original characters, but there's nothing wrong with a new character being black.

Snape is a new character? That's not what's going on in the movie industry. They are race swapping characters that have always been white. We need a Tyler Perry movie remake starring an white cast. Let's see the reactions.

Almost every character should be white. These books were written by a white British woman about white British school children. Saying race doesn't matter is nonsense, especially coming from the people who are making this, and anyone who says they can't watch something unless the characters 'look like them' (something I've heard woke producers and directors say over and over again) - is fricking racist.

Are white people the only good storytellers? Is it impossible to get non-whites on TV and in the movies without race swapping white characters?

I guess so.

dude, you've already proven this is about more than Snape casting to you because you are in a culture war.

You are trying to make this one casting decision part of something bigger rather than discussing it at face value, which compromises your ability to have a rational discussion about it.

your tyrannical, Woke bullying shite that ruins everything

no clue what you are talking about here? clearly it isn't about ME because I've never ruined any TV shows. I've never cast, produced, written, or directed, or acted in any tv show. therefore I could not have possibly ruined any. How can I ruin something I am not a part of?

People like you killed the biggest IP in Hollywood history with Star Wars

see above

It’s still incredible that you managed to kill Star Wars.

I've never had anything to do with Star Wars. Did I kill it by watching it? if watching something makes you responsible for what happens to it, then you are just as guilty as me for "killing" star wars.

He does deserve insults. People like that do not deserve the normal decorum because they do not reciprocate, they only twist it into a weapon. That’s what the weak do.

Life and all the streaming content we've been getting the past few years are pretty awesome if you'd take your head out of your arse and take a look around.

You spend time worrying about the wrong things. Rather than being happy we are gonna get 7 seasons of Harry Potter, you will find one thing and complain about it incessantly.

Maybe you have wired your brain to focus on negatives by constantly searching for them. It is not healthy. Drink a beer and enjoy the college football championships and then when Harry Potter comes out, enjoy it as well. Variety is the spice of life, everything doesn't have to fit your exact specifications to be enjoyable

Dude looks like he'd make a great Basil Rathbone:playing Sir Guy of Gisborne in The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938).

Rathbone is in the middle here.

Yes he’s the most physically detailed character in the books and this description is constantly repeated and invoked.

it’s a pretty good point you’re making.

It’s actually insane how dirty the books do James Potter.

Every character we like and Harry’s mom liked him, but we get this weird half love story between Snape and Lilly

This board has several people who like to claim a particular film or show "wasn't made for me" whenever they feel there aren't enough white male characters. Is this also racist?

They’re mocking the people who came up with the phrase.

This argument completely falls apart given the overwhelming enthusiasm for the entirely Asian and Native American casting of “Avatar: The Last Airbender”.

You people are race baiting and quite frankly racist clowns. We just want the material as it was written and that’s it.

You people are just fricking assholes that want to ruin everything and mold it into your Woke bullshite ideology. As Tolkien beautifully put it:

Name one. Give me an example.

One Piece was pretty popular among my demographic. I think there might be one white guy in it.
