Just saw commercial for it on CBS while watching the PGA tournament.

Why?

Are they that bereft of ideas that they need to bring back a 72 year old overweight Candice Bergen? Are they thinking, "it worked for Rosanne, who should we bring back now?"

"Gee, I don't know boss. NBC already brought back a fat assed Debra Messing for Will and Grace."

"Yeah, what other fat actresses are out there?"

"I hear Candice Bergen is running out of money and looking particularly plump these days. Bet we can get her for a box of Depends."

"Call her agent. Make sure she's at least 180 pounds before we make an offer."

"Sure thing, boss"

This is like bringing back Gloria Steinum to lead the SJW movement.

Murphy Brown was a product of its time and now looks quaint compared to today.

OMG, a single mother in the workplace!

That's crazy talk!

Pros love Candace Bergen as will see how she handles the social world and tech
Cons as Hollywood is running out of ideas.

Murphy Brown was one of the first shows to depict a character who had an abortion. It was a leftist propaganda outlet then and will be no different now.

Single motherhood has far more relevance now than it did then sadly. The Murphy Brown dream was realized as abortions increased tenfold as did single motherhood.

It doesn't.

There are enough "real" news programs straining themselves to shite on Trump.

That is completely inaccurate.

they don't have to strain. orange boy provides enough laxative of the mouth, no straining needed.

I believe that was the first prime time character to, which would have made it the mid 70's. It may have happened on soaps before that though.
