Why Do people hate Jurassic world Dominion ?

Is it bc Pratt is the star and he’s an outspoken Christian or is the movie bad? I’m seeing it later and was just wondering

I don’t know why they hate that one since I have never nor ever will see it, but here’s a great critique why the initial Jurassic World sucks: Jurassic World, Jurassic Values

Don’t know that I’ve seen it but the recent ones all look like “reboots” of the first one

Only the first one is great. It’s the only one worthy of my collection.

I enjoyed it. My boys enjoyed it. Wasn't perfect, but who cares. Some people are just miserable.

I thought it was just okay like all the JW movies it’s pretty forgettable

Why Do people hate Jurassic world Dominion ?
1. The fact that the plot is yet another derivative take on the basic plot of the first Jurassic Park.
2. The fact that the movie is 24 minutes too long.
3. The corny MSNBC plot catch-up prologue for the people who missed Fallen Kingdom.
4. The forced sentimentality for the Jurassic World movies. Are we are supposed to get the feelz for the Pratt/Howard characters like we do for the original cast?
5. The several dozen sequences of the movie where the plot drags with tedious exposition.
6. The overuse of dinosaur scares. It took JP (1993) 50 minutes to get to the T-Rex paddock. Here, the scares are just so repetitive, they lose potency.
7. And yet another mano-a-mano Rex vs. Indominus Rex-stand-in fight.
Edit: I could keep going. The weird biome of the nature reserve where part of it is in arctic climate and the other part is a swamp.
Edit: My personal most favorite sequel is Jurassic Park 3. I prefer Grant to Malcolm as a lead character, and it was mercifully quick paced.

I liked the first one Pratt was in. The second one I turned off like an hour in. Wasn’t watchable.
I will def not go out of my way to see this but I’ll watch once it gets on an app solely because Of Pratt and Goldblum.

I like Chris Pratt so that has nothing to do with my assessment. The movie was boring, cheesy and just plain bad. It was a real letdown as we hadn’t been to a theatre in a long time.

It would probably have been better if I hadn’t just seen Top Gun: Maverick recently, which just looks better, was more fun, and more anticipated (only the second movie in the series vs. the sixth movie).

I didn't think it was that bad. It was great seeing the original trio of Alan, Ellie, and Malcolm together again. I enjoyed the plot twist related to Maisie's backstory, but I thought that Campbell Scott was a very meh villain. He seemed more misguided than evil. Some people have complained that it's woke because of the environmental catastrophe message and the fact that the two characters who really end of being the heroes are both black and one of them is gay.

I really like Pratt and thought this movie was really bad. It was bad writing, a bad plot, and didnt incorporate the dinosaurs nearly as much as it should have.
It’s a movie where there are literally dinosaurs all over the world and yet the focus is on this one small group of people and not how the world is dealing with dinosaurs. What a missed opportunity!

That’s an interesting point and goes back to what I was saying about it being yet another derivative story.
You do see the dinosaurs near Owen’s cabin and later when they go to Malta, but it ultimately ends up taking place in the Biosyn “nature reserve” in Italy, which is just euphemism for “park.”
So, instead of it being a world-hopping adventure to round up all of the loose dinosaurs, it’s more or less the same dull story.

Another problem is these is just a lack of tension in these films starting back with JW. In the original and even TLW there were times where you felt like someone from the cast might get picked off. And in the OG saga good people were absolutely able to be picked off. Gennaro, Muldon, and Samuel L Jackson’s character were all decent regular people that died. Eddie Carr in TLW, and the mercenaries in JP III. In the JW saga all we got was Zara and a bunch of no name extras. There’s no raptors in the kitchen scene or long grass scene.
It’s just the same rinse and repeat stuff with the raptors becoming a comic relief almost minus Blue and the raptors from the first JW movie. The Rex only serves to get its arse kicked by the new big dino but still win with help. If we want to have the Rex fight something have it fight a Triceratops since it’s not only two of most well liked dinosaurs facing off but it’s a fight that happened 65+ millions of years ago. Instead we get Rex vs bigger Rex.
The non Dino plot was just dumb was randomly shoehorned into the movie. I would have much preferred to the movie to focus on BioSyn offering to solve the problem of what definitely would be happening of dinos fricking up the eco system only to find it out they’re the ones crating more dinos and releasing them into the wild and paying off politicians and such to keep it hush hush.
Speaking of dinos living with humans we didn’t really get to see that. That’s how the movie should have started. Dinos fricking up the lives of people like a pack of raptors in Times Square, herd of triceratops in Tokyo, T-Rex in Texas. Just way more of dinos and regular people interacting

I love Tom Cruise movies because he makes good movies. I can put aside his beliefs because he makes good movies.
