So you've said.

It’s a true statement. Why do you think Penn deserved an Oscar? What was great about his performance?

Whatever you think of his character, I thought he did an amazing job of pulling it off. If you don't like his character, blame the one who wrote it. The academy agrees. Not sure what else there is to say on the subject.

I’m not assessing blame, I’m asking for your opinion. So far, you haven’t given one other than he did a great job. What was great about it? And why did the film deserve best picture?

Remember when I said it was a category, and wasn't just giving a brief review of the film?

Good times. . .

You called the movie a masterpiece. But you don't know why.

I do know why. Because I loved it. What more do you want? I'm not a critic and I don't see the need in trying to change your mind.

Look at his post history.

No chance he wasn't going to "love" this movie. Even if he didn't watch it.

It's about two white dudes on opposite sides of the political spectrum and how they fetishize and chase the same untamable black chick.

The one who isn’t in the movie the last 2 hours? I think you may have missed the plot.

It's funny, there's people on here that claim they love the movie but none of them want to engage at all on the subject and themes of the movie. Very odd to like something but you're unable to say why.

Out of all of the awards, the biggest crime was one battle not winning best cinematography

That was a beautifully shot movie and no way in hell should Sinners have beaten it.

I do agree with this. The movie was well made, as all PTA films are. The car chase was particularly well done.

I guess I’m getting old because last night my wife and I both looked at each other and said we haven’t heard of 6 of the 10 movies up for best picture

I've only seen Sinners and One Battle After Another. I'll watch Marty Supreme and F1 at some point but I'm not sure about any of the others.

Honestly, I just don't want to argue abt perceived racism and be pulled into political debates by the weird roaad guy. It's exhausting. I thought the movie was technically very well made and had incredible pacing. The actors for better or worse have been debated on just as much or not more than the movie. Usually that tells you they made an impact. This is all I have.

I really like MBJ, so I’m cool with him having an Oscar and I thought it was a very cool moment.

That being said, I think the Smoke/Stack thing made it more confusing than it would have being 2 different actors. The personalities were different, but not different enough.

I thought his performance was solid, but I personally thought Leo was better, and then the vast majority of people I know who have seen Sinners and Marty Supreme said Chalamet was clearly better.

Well, the movie is about race and politics. You can't discuss the movie without getting into these topics. Why did you even watch the movie, you know, being so sensitive and all?
