Did Lucas write these stories? I think not, therefore they aren't relevant. He ended it at 6.
Anyone that didnt know the series was originally slated to be 9 movies shouldnt be commenting

SW was a game changer, ESB was the peak of the series. Everything after that was subpar. Lucas sold out on RotJ. Nothing more to say about the prequals. I look forward to a new direction for this series.

The franchise is based around the life of Anaken Skywalker. Anaken dies, end of story. No one cares what Luke and the others do because they aren't the story.
Why does it have to maintain this story line at all? It could jump ahead to a new conflict with new characters for a new generation of viewers.

I think we have a lot of people over reacting. Lets wait for some more details before flipping out. That being said I would love to see some Tales of the Jedi stuff. Like showing the story of Exar Kun and how it became a master and apprentice for the Sith. I mean chances are the next movie will be involved with what Luke is dealing with on Yavin with the new Jedi Academy. So why not tell that story.

It simply cannot get worse than TPM and kid Anakin saying "yippee" while getting on that pod he built.
I felt like I was watching a Disney movie....
....wait a minute....
..We're in trouble.

Don't forget about everything being "wizard"
Btw you know Disney owned Miramax for a time.

And yet games like KOTOR/2 are heralded as having some of the best storylines in video games.

The EU appeals to thousands and thousands of fans. I'm gonna say they'll be interested in seeing what comes next. I'll have cautious optimism.
This. The follow-up has near unlimited potential.

You know what I think would make an interesting SW movie? One that is devoted to the history of the most popular ship in the series
Open with a brand-spanking new YT-1300 rolling off the Correlian assembly line...(with "Bad to the Bone" playing over scene)no seriously, follow it's many ownerships, days as the "Stellar Envoy", it's never-ending modifications...battles, near-escapes,or non-escapes...maybe found adrift/ salvaged etc...how many names she went through before dubbed "The Millennium Falcon"...the story (rumor?) of how it took 3 droid units to operate her, how they hated each other and were constantly trying to kill each other by failing systems at critical times...of course, concurrent events would tie into plots of at least II-IV (the clones, separatists, senate dissolution/rise of Empire - all just background drivel, not central to "Her" story...why she was spotted docking at Courosant (sp?) in Ep III) and ending it with a rich owner (who maybe had all intentions of scrapping her)"fooling" this random petty thief and smooth-talker into taking her to pay off a debt...never showing his face, but by voice we recognize Lando, saying something like "There's lots of money to be made out there, old girl"
Like "Warhorse"..."Starhorse"...
That's a new SW movie I'd pay to see.
ETA: If Irvin Kershner would return as a zombie as Director, my fantasy would be complete

I gained hope when JJ got involved but if they continue the story with Hamil, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, it will be a
complete abomination.

Was Obi-Wan an abomination?
I imagine the old school will have small but integral roles.
Believe me, no movie studio is going to spend $200 million with a geriatric cast.

I actually want Hamil back, maybe as a force ghost. The other two, frick no.
Posted on 1/27/13 at 5:21 pm to WicKed WayZ
Well get used to frick no. They have already said the old crew will be back.

I guess I don't keep up with all the extra crap like comics, message board story lines and all the other stuff Fan Boys crave and live for.
Posted on 1/28/13 at 1:24 am to WicKed WayZ
Will they be based on any of those books or will it be a completely new story?

Was never a huge star wars fan. Saw clones and sith out of curiosity and was underwhelmed by both, but was mildly entertained by the first 3.......or last 3.....the ones before the prequels.
