Who had the brilliant idea for this Masters of the Universe film

that was one of the worst movies I've ever seen and they had enough end credits to think they might have a sequel

What were you expecting? It's a self-aware action comedy based on a comic book set in a fantasy universe.

I thought it was really well done. It's a movie based off a really ridiculous cartoon if you go back and watch it.

It was a fun little movie that didn't take itself too seriously. Not sure what you were expecting.

I watched it with my 7 and 9 year old boys. We loved it.

I will never understand the offense taken by people over the existence of a film that they don't like.
If it's not your cup of tea, then don't watch it or recommend it.

I would watch again just for the warrior goddess

IMO, it had just the right amount of self deprecating, self aware humor plus action and story to make it really good and rewatchable.
And from the looks of other really crappy relatable films, those things are obviously not easy to get right.
To me, it's similar of the last Dungeons and Dragons Chris Pine movie. Just the right amount of smart humor and action.

It's killing it across streaming apparently?

I'm not old enough to have watched the cartoon on its original run, but watched some of the cartoon on reruns and had the action figures as a kid. I enjoyed the movie for what it was and would watch a sequel. My wife who has no frame of reference or nostalgia for He-Man, also thought it was a fun movie.
Dungeons and Dragons is a fair comparison and I hope we get a sequel for that as well.

It wasn’t a terrible idea in general, but giving it a $170M budget was real dumb

I never watched the cartoon either and my wife enjoyed it as well which is a good point. Both Masters and Dungeons were fun knowing really nothing about the series or the game.

i enjoyed first few minutes then once the story moved to the real word i lost it

I thought the movie sucked, but fully realize that I am not the audience they were going for. He-man was just a bit before my time.

It was fun and achieved what it intended. I thought it was pretty good.
Not everything has to be No Country for Old Men.
